Review of Easy Charm by Kristen Proby. Book Two in the Boudreaux Series

I am yet again in love with another of Kristen Proby’s books. I am happy that she is now my to go author when I want a feel good, good ol’ romance novel, that depending on the characters can be a lot hot and some times a little out there…

This second book in her Bourdreaux Series is just as amazing as her other works. I have read most (If not all, and I do believe ALL) of her books and I am amazed at how much I love the stories because they are not all the same, even though the men do strive for the same. It’s just that she portrays their journey to getting it and depending on who it is, then their journey will change as well.
I love how she always puts an end to her characters in a way that will leave you knowing the whole story, and not have so much left to the imagination or the reader.
When you reach the end of one of her books you will feel like it was the end, that couple will definitely live happily ever after even if the fight, disagree of if life throws them a curve ball.
After that you will also start to want to have another one of her books, because one, was just not enough.

I can’t wait for another Kristen Proby Romance to be released, in the mean time; I might re-read some of my favorites.

Gaby and Rhys are amazing together and I love that to us, the ones that read all that she has released he can be tied back to the With me in Seattle series and one of my favorite couples, from "Tied with Me", Nic and Matt. While also staying completely true to the new readers by not making that tie completely dependent of one another.

In this work I love the way this particular family sticks together, trough good and bad.  Yes, sometimes they go a bit overboard, but that’s what happens when you have big brothers who love you (Right?) and want to keep you safe.

Without further ado y’all, here is the link to the amazon web page. I do hope you give her work a try, I think it's amazing, feel good romance.

Review of: "Grey" the new EL James book and Giveaway!

Grey:  Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian by EL James Review

Hello y’all.
I have done a video of this particular review, but for those of you who don’t know I now have a YouTube channel, here is the review of one of the –again- most controversial books been released.

If you want to check out the I Geek Books YouTube Channel click here -----à

My over all rating for this book 4 of 5 Stars.

I liked the book, and I do not concur with most of the critiques, specially the bad ones. How ever, there are as many books as tastes out there, so everyone has their opinion on it. This is plainly the review of a fan of the series that likes the new book and appreciates the new perspective that EL James provided.

First of all, and just to be clear my favorite book in the series is not Fifty Shades of Grey, it’s Fifty Shades Darker and with that in mind is one of the reasons that I give the book as many starts, even when its not all five. The story for me is very interesting.
The thing to keep in mind here- what I think some people failed to realize-is the fact that the story will not change. Just because is in another’s perspective it does not mean that we will have another story to read all together and I have to say, even in spite of it, I like it. Or maybe even because of it. We all know how this one ends, so there are not, if any hidden surprises, right? Or so we think, at least I did…
It was interesting to know what was cooking up in Christian’s head. What he was thinking in my favorite parts of the book, his reactions, fears, phobias, and some of the back-stories that make him who he is and consequently who he will become tough out the series. This book is his journey to more…

My favorite part I have to say was one that we didn’t get to see in all the books that preceded this one.  It was the last three chapters of the book and having read the first one- FSOG, that is. I spent the whole book terrified that I was not going to get to read this part. That it would end just like FSOG and leave me wondering still, what was going trough his head? What made him decide on one thing when he was so set on another?
Sort of like the same way of when you see a book converted to the movie you were waiting for, only to realize your favorite scene, or something you were looking for to seeing, didn’t make the cut. Fortunately, EL James came trough and showed me what I wanted. The time in between Ana leaving him, and him deciding to get her back…

Its really a good book, I quite enjoyed it and I am happy I purchased it in both formats, even when the physical copy didn’t get to me until recently, there for allowing me to do a Giveaway!!!

All you have to do is go to the Facebook page of I Geek Books and like it, and then share the comment in there with the picture of the book and the news of this Giveaway.

Review of Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer SPOILER ALERT Links para los libros en Español

Hello everyone and welcome back to the I Geek Books blog.

If you want to LISTEN to this review, click here.http://www.spreaker.com/user/ccalvarez90/review-of-cinder-by-marissa-meyer-splr

For a couple of days now I have been looking up online (YouTube, believe it or not) for more books to read. I felt like something new was in order for me. A story that will be like no other I had ever read before, and boy did I found it!

It seemed like there was a consensus about it online and that was that it was a good book and more over, a good series. Of course this caught my attention and when I looked it up it turned out that my library had i available, and whats more, they had the Audiobook version of it.

The book was a lot more that I was expecting. Not only did the author created a new world where much of what we today imagine does come to pass, but a whole new take on the story of Cinderella, one that I personally like a lot.

Now if you don't like spoilers these is where you stop reading and go on to what ever platform you prefer and purchase said book. If those blogger's and other reviews you have read were not enough I hope this one has been, believe me, you are in for a treat; and for those of you who want more details than what the back cover provides, the hang on to your seats, here goes.

There are 4 books so far in the series and one "spin off" of one of the characters in the first book. Here is a complete a complete list with links to the amazon pages of all I could find:

Cinder - Cinderella The Kindle editor offer the first 5 chapters for Free.
Scarlet - Red Ridding Hood Available
Cress - Rapunzel Available
Winter - Snow White? Available for Pre-Order Release date: Nov 10th, 2015
Heartless - Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland Available for Pre-Order; Release date: Nov 8th,2016
Fairest - The Lunar Chronicles: Levana's Story. Available
Stars Above - A compilation of Short Story's set in the Lunar Chronicles. Available for Pre-Order, Release date: Feb 2nd, 2016

* Para todos aquellos lectores en español estas crónicas lunares también están en amazon en español, aquí le dejo el Link: Crónicas Lunares de Marissa Meyer.

Cinder is a cyborg. Yes you read right (talk about a spin off from the classical story, right?!) a cyborg. She was adopted and her father, the one who wanted her died of a plague that has earth's citizens in a panic, leaving her with the evil step sister, the not so evil step sister and the very evil (you want to choke, yell and scratch at) stepmother. There is also of course, a very noble prince soon to be emperor and another entity that adds up to the story and the development of it, Queen Levana. Regent sovereign of the Moon. This all takes place in New Beijing, many years after today's date when so much has happened to change civilization as we know it.
Do not be fooled by the way its portrayed. For me this was way much more than another Cinderella story. It kept me on my toes all the while. I found myself surprised, hopeful, feeling sorrow and joyful. I could empathize with Cinder all the while, even tough for all intents and purposes she is part robot, part human...
I also loved that the way its narrated it gives the reader all the information. From the beginning I knew who she was. What she was supposed to be, who she is and she does not know it. Hidden in plain sight and yet no one could find her. That was brilliant.

My least favorite part how ever, was the end. Not because it was bad, but because its a cliff hanger. The good thing is; there is a following book in The Lunar Chronicles and this Book Geek is logged into her library account right now putting a hold on that book right now, I can't wait to see what the next book has in stock for me.

I love it when I am pleasantly surprised, and this book surprised me on all levels. It checks all my must haves. Good writing, great story, good story line and progress for readers. Strong characters that you can emphasize with and lots of little details I can't wait to explore.  Right when you think nothing else could go wrong, well, that's when you are wrong... I have to say, I love books like this that make me want to trow my reading list away and read this until my eyes hurt, I am sleep deprived (but happy) and completely finished with it. How ever, I will try and control myself (mostly because I am on a wait list for the second book) and keep to my list.

I will definitely be posting more as I progress, I am very exited for this Chronicles and I hope you will give them a try if you have not done so yet.

As always I hope you found this review helpful,

Review of Divine Evil by Nora Roberts

Hello everyone. Its Monday and I am here again, with what I believe to be yet another great book, from the only and Only. Nora Roberts.

The more I read about her, the more it feeds my new found addiction of her books. Something that I think is good considering the fact that she has a great many of them published. There are series, single stories and I plan to devour each and every one of them.
The first step is to admit it. Right? I am a Noraholic.
There, I said it.

So with that said. I'll go ahead and dive into why I think this books is so great.

Divine Evil
kept me on my toes for its entire duration. All the time its giving you new information, about the characters, the relationships and the cult. I love that. I know I am probably repeating myself when it comes to this author. But her process seem to work- at least on me-  and I find it mesmerizing. You can always empathize with the main characters. They always have one trace or piece of themselves that you can't help but share with them or understand. I keep loving the descriptions. They are long, yes, but they paint a wonderful picture and are by no mean tiresome. You can get into the head of every character, and even tough they are written by the same person, each and every one of them has a different voice that you can easily differentiate.

This novel is dark, mysterious and full of the unknowns. Based in a small town where nothing is like it seems and no one can be trusted. Were people get what they want no matter the consequences of their actions. Just because they can they do it, and its their believes that HE will serve them. By HE I mean the Devil. Yes I know.
Not what I expected either.

I have to say, I love the ending!
I don't want to spoil it for you, but when those few lines passed my mouth was hanging open and like always I kept going trough it like there was something else in there. I am sad tough, because I tough there was going to be a Prologue on the main characters. So this I do warn you about. There is not.
How ever there is enough in the pages prior to the ending to give you a great idea of what the main characters would do after all the conflict had passed and was resolved. So I guess is for you to make your own ending in that part. Living up to the readers imagination. I like that too.

Well, this is all for today. I will have the #IGeekBooksAudioReview on #Spreaker as well for you to enjoy and click here on the Facebook page to know what is going to be reviewed in the next post day on Friday.

Dont forget to give me a thumbs up and suscribe to the blog if you want o get notices of when I post new reviews.

Thanks for reading.
Have a great Book!

XOXO

Review of the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice writing under the pen name of A.N Roquelaure

Hello y'all! I am very exited to write this review for you!

Let me start by saying. This is not a book for everyone. If you didn't like the  Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy or Erotica books laced with what I can only refer to as Hard Core BDSM, then please continue reading any other reviews on the blog. I just wanted to start by putting that out there.

This book is quite honestly like nothing I have ever read before. It's very explicit and evocative. Shocking even, I would prepare for a very new experience.

Its some times sexy, romantic and some times appalling. My mouth hang open quite a few times if I am been honest. It brings a whole new concept to the table. An insight to the mysterious land of BDSM that is very talked about today. This is the most straight forward, insightful book on the subject that I have ever read. I honestly did not think that a whole book could be written in that complete subject. Every page is filled with sex and punishment, erotica in its fullest form.
It tales a new, fully explicit scene filled with different ways of this new world that is presented to us via the wonderful book.
The psychology of it its what caught my eye and makes me keep reading it. The way all the slaves (that are also princess and princess's, born in the high crib and to various favours in their respective kingdoms) cope with this new part of their lives. With been used and humiliated in every possible way and then some. Its fascinating.
The way the mind works to help them cope. The way that they free their minds into feeling good about what they do and its done to them. To take the simple pleasures that they are provided and dismiss the morals of the situations that they are put into. The way their masters train them into being not only submissive but obedient without resorting to the gags and shackles, but instead by withdrawing pleasure.

Some of them even crave the punishments and rebel in different ways, to keep some of their individuality or maybe even for the sake of balance? This is never clear, but rebel they do.
Some seek them in order to get to a point where they want to be at they they would never have reached otherwise. Not been afraid of the process by looking at the outcome, the big picture. They do what they need to do and the outcome is, tough painful, also a pleasurable for them.

This book has me intrigued, it peeked my curiosity and I can't wait to read more. I am not surprised how ever. I love Anne Rice and her books are always compelling, well written and always not at all what you expect its going to be. Its good to see this has not changed, and I still love her for it.

I do hope you give this book a try if you ever wondered about the subject. This is by no means a classical romantic story, although love is a subject, its does not focus on the "One woman with one men" kind of love. Its more open than than.
I am happy I gave the book a try and I look forward to the second one. This was until not so long ago a Trilogy and only recently was there a new book released to make it a series. Here are the titles and the links for you to go to Amazon should you wish to have more info, pricing, etc.

1. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty.
2. Beauty's Punishment.
3. Beauty's Release.
4. Beauty's Kingdom.

Well, this is all I have for today. I hope you found this helpful and don't forget to give me a thumbs up! I'll see y'all again on Friday with another wonderful book for you.
Until then, have a great book keeping you company.

A Shade of Vampire Series by Bella Forrest SPOILER ALERT

If you want to listen to this review go to: http://www.spreaker.com/user/ccalvarez90/a-shade-of-vampire-series-bella-forrest

Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to review a series that I started to read a while ago. Now this is not my typical review, since i really did not like this series much. Actually not at all. But I gave it a lot of tough and decided that I wanted to be truthful about this.
Just because I didn't like it it does not mean that it's not a great fit for someone else. I just wanted to put my side out there since guiding yourself by the critics on amazon it seems very few people share my view, so for those of you out there, here it goes:

The first book is A Shade of Vampire.

I remember reading it and thinking I loved it. The story was great, something new. There was little to no vampire romanticism in the story at all. I loved the fact that the author created a world inside ours that it was theirs and theirs only.

The story goes a bit like this.

There is The Shade, a place where the vampire congregation lives. The princess of the Shade is running it now with another leader of the council. How ever the prince, Derek Novak has been asleep places as so by a witch, the same one who made the shade for him.
Then there is Sofia. She is a normal girl, in love with the guy who has not paid her mind as she suffers and silence...

She gets kidnapped for Derek to feed when he wakes up from his magical induced coma...

Now here is what I loved:
The story was great in the fist two books. I loved the little word the author created for them. The fact that his vampires where that, hard core vampires with little to no morals at all, and the way they portrayed humans was also different. We for them are nothing but food. An inconvenience that they had found no cure or spell to solve and they approached it a bit like the Romans. Kidnapped slaves it's what you find in the shade. Held against their will.
They had no remorse what so ever, until Sofia got there and shed some light on things...

The reason why I stopped reading:
At some point past the third book it got redundant in my opinion. Everything was the same. It all keep going in circles and I felt like the protagonists didn't get it together! As in their act. She wants to be strong and take a stand for the human population in the shade and try is the operative word since so far, she is not succeeding but been push over and over to what Derek wants. They both know they are doing something wrong. Even so they don't talk to each other, don't solve it. It goes on and on until you want to yell at the book.  It seemed in every page the one consistent line was: "You're an idiot Novak."

It was really a shame because I loves the concept in the beginning, and its not like I didn't give it a try. But when the fifth book was almost over and I didn't have the urge to know how it will end, I figured it was time to call it quits.

I hope this helps y'all. I am not trying to be cruel. But if I don't share this view as well as the good ones, then this blog will be obsolete, since the reason I started it was to give truthful, real reviews.

Now with that said I did some research as always and it has a couple more books since I read it that are new in that series. There are 14 in total that are out and  complete. I am not sure if its finished tough...

So far it seems to be free on kindle unlimited (I wish it would have been when I was buying them), but again this changes, so if you decide to give it a try make sure to try and get this special offer. remember you can get 10 at a time with the Kindle Unlimited Program.

As always I hope you have a great book keeping you company and that you found this reviews helpful.

Have a great day and I'll see you soon!
