Review of Angels Fall by Nora Roberts

Hello everyone.
How's your week?

Mine has being superb. I have a stack of books waiting for me and one of the is already of the list.
I found it in a trip to the library I did the day before yesterday. There is a gigantic section with Nora Roberts's books and I for one could not stop myself. I got this one: ANGELS FALL and Devine Evil as well as something else and Equally as good. The Witching Hour by Anne Rice -These I will reviews as well as fast as I read them, so probably next week. I already know that The Witching Hour is good, how ever I wanted to go back to it to finish the series since I now have access to it- so it will be a very good rest of the week indeed.

These book had some of the same elements as the one I read last week  from her, The Collector. But they are not at all the same book in the least.
I love the mystery of the book. Not only of the story, but of the protagonist. I felt for her. Laughed when she did. Saw what she saw and why she wanted to stay.
Nora Roberts is excellent at painting a picture, after her books I no longer thing that descriptions are boring and fill out chapters. She uses those descriptions amazingly, puts you right where she wants you to be, when she wants to. I found myself exited and afraid at the same time when those last pages were near and the end is almost upon me, because I know this is when it all goes down. They know who the culpable will be, and there is going to be an event that will decide everyones life... and looked back and forward in the end of the book for more when The End was there.

I wish I had more of the book, but then again that is just me, always want more of the Happy Ending of the book when it ends.

It was an excellent book and it had me glued to it from beginning to end. I literally read it in one day, all 439 pages of it.

I recommend this book. Not only for people who want to read a good romance but for those who like mysteries, small towns, small town gossip and those very refreshing characters that come with that type of life. Not to mention the murder and very carefully planed cover up. I loved being able to guess- and be right about it- who was the murderer. While Reece and Brody helped me with the why's.

Over all, Angels Fall hit all my Great Book marks spot on.

I go ahead now and set out "Divine Evil", no doubt another book I will enjoy. I trust Nora's writing now :), Two for Two is a great average so far.

I hope y'all also have a great book, and I will be posting the audio review of both The Collector and Angels Fall in the Spreaker I Geek Books Audioblog soon.

PS: I just found out this book is also a Movie!

Review of The Collector by Nora Roberts. SPOILER ALLERT.

Good morning everyone!
How have y'all being?
Myself, I had a great book that I can't wait to share with you and a good week too.

But first; I can not believe that I had not found this author before! How did I bypass her work is beyond me. I keep trying to go back into my memory and recall her way of writing even if not the title, but I am emerging blank in that aspect, so I can only conclude that this, is my first Nora Roberts Book...
I found this book to be amazing. It not only has a great romance, and a second story of romantic nature as well, but it compiles almost every genre. Suspense, robbery, murder, romance and of course, shenanigans.
Whats not to love right?
If you have not yet read anything about her, like me -who has being in a bubble and is not ready to get out- then look for her work. Its amazing, and if you are a Nora Roberts fan and are looking for something of her that is fairly new, then look no more. "The Collector" is for you.
I had the pleasure of encountering this book in Audible. I tend to hoard my credits and the people over there notice and send me two for one offers...
I read the sample and liked the narrator, so there is that.
The book is amazing, she portrays an array of characters and it feel like they all belong. Super sized notorious, incredible famous and wealthy families paired up with hard working, sure of themselves and talented woman who know what they want.
It's an all inclusive if you ask me. You feel what the characters feel, you put yourself in their shoes and company them in their adventures. Yell at Lila when she puts herself in danger and laugh with Ash when he, so sure of himself, makes predictions of the future he wants and will sure get, because he wants it.
All in all, this is 450 pages of pure fun, old fashion romance.
I loved it beyond words and will surely look for other works of Nora Roberts, from now on, she will always have a spot on my bookshelf.
Hope y'all have a great book keeping you company.
Don't forget to give me a thumbs up if you find this useful, and for more info on what will be reviewed next you can follow me on Facebook on the I Geek Books Page.

School Spirits Review By Rachel Hawkins.

Hello all,

It has being to long since I did a review here on the Blog. I miss y'all!

I hope you have read wonderful books in my absence and that they filled your days with great adventures. I will love to hear all about it. So please leave your comments below.

Today I will bring another good book to your To Read List.

School Spirits its a Hex Hall Novel-If you do not know about it here is the link to the Review on this blog about it: Hex Hall Series Review -that I had the pleasure of reading about 2 years ago. At first I was very exited by this since I did read the Hex Hall Series (3 books not counting this one) and was in love with it.

If you are one of the readers who has read The Hex Hall series and you are expecting -like me- to have another book in the series. Then I am here to tell you that it's not what you are going to get at all. I was sorry that this was the case. I was looking forward to having another book relating the adventures of Sophie and how all came together for her after all they when trough.

This book how ever is from a totally different perspective and with characters that we know, just not as much in dept.

Izzy is one of the Brannicks. Sophie's cousin on her mother side and this is completely from her perspective. Her life, what she sees and how she sees it.

For me it was another great work from Rachel Hawkins. Even tough it was not what I expected, the little of disappointment I had over was way over weighed by this new trilling story.

Even tough it touches a bit on the same subject and some of the same principles as Hex Hall- Girl is in school, girl makes friends in a new school, etc.- she made it in a way that was not boring on the same as every other book.
I loved that she kept writing in a way that made me want more and more. Information is feed to the reader in a calculated manner. Trusting you with bits and pieces of the story, but never the whole. Not at the same time and not till the end anyways.

I never saw the end coming. The little details is what matter to me, and this one meet all my Must Haves list. Passing with flying colors.

I wish there was a second one to this line of her writing already out there in the market for me to buy ASAP.
The book certainly has a lot more to be told, if there would be a second book after this one, and this would be made another series I would not be surprised at all. There is still a lot to discover that was not uncovered so far, and this has me all exited. Maybe there would be more... I sure Hope so!
As Always I hope y'all enjoy.

Have a great book!

Review of "Easy Love" and "Easy with You" by Kristen Proby.

Hello y'all!

I am sorry I have being off the blog lately. It has being a very busy week but I tough I'd make up for it with this two books that I recently had the pleasure of reading.

I started to be a fan of Kristen Proby when I found the audio books of The With me in Seattle Series, and of course I have reviewed all of her series in the blog.
She quickly became my companion when I was driving back and forwards to and from work. I was so hooked with that series that I even listened to it while I was on break at work. I have follow her since then; the Love Under the Big Sky Series was great as well.
I loved all the characters and they way the stories all mingled in between each other because in my experience series usually either talk about the same person/persons and are based on them uniquely. Or they have a sort of communication between each other, but is never enough. You end up having questions about other characters in those books. Wanting to know more about them and getting more in depth with their stories....
Well if this happens to you then you are in for a treat.
Kristen Proby is very committed to there characters and I am happy that I got to read about the Montgomery-Williams-McKenna Family and now we have another series that she is starting that's is very promising! And of course, yours truly could not wait to check it out!

The Boudreaux Series is based in "The Big Easy", the Southern capital of the magically unexpected, parties in the French Quarter and last but not least Beignets.

I love the way she describes the city, if it were not already my favorite city (because of the history and the legends) after reading Easy Love and Easy with You I would have made it so then and there.
I am happy that we got to see new characters, because with her, one does get closure on the characters that you love; and they all have very different stories than the previous series.

Reading this books have being a very nice treat. They are romantic, real and sexy as well. I have become addicted to her stories and I am sure you will too. I don't read them, I devour them. Even though Easy Love is almost 300 pages long I read it in 3 and a half hours and Easy with you about half the time, since it was half as long. Its one of those books that you can not put down unless you get to the last page and then you wonder why it finished so quickly?!

I can't help but want more of this series and I am very exited to read what to come next in it.

Kristen Proby, wonderful job! As always.

I will also be posting the AudioReview of this two books in Spreaker as always in the I Geek Books AudioBlog, so you can enjoy them and make up your mind about these stories while on the go
.

Don't forget to give me a thumbs up if you find this helpful, and now you can also follow the IGeekBooks Facebook Page, here is the link:

Review of: Tragic By JA Huss Book 1 in the Rook and Ronin Series.

Hello everyone and welcome back to I Geek Books.

Today I thought I'd do a review on this new book since I recently found it and its a series. But not only that, is a series that is complete. So there won't be a gut wrenching feeling and/or a long wait to get to the next book; this for me is always a plus when looking for a series.
If its finished I will most likely buy it more often that if its not.
What about you? I'm now curious to know if you take this into consideration when purchasing a book that is part of a series?
Ok, onto the theme at hand here. Tragic...

I have to tell you, I am very exited to have found this book, exited does not even cover it, I am beyond thrilled. I can't wait to be able to get to Manic; book # 2.

Here are the books in order:
Tragic
Manic
Panic

Also I have all of you to thank for this find since I was looking to see if Three Two One by the same author was in Audible to be able to bring you updated information, since we talked about it last week on the #igeekbooksaudioreview and I could not remember...
And then, there it was, Tragic.

This series is another mater piece of the world of people who are as it is the case, in the right place, at the right time.
Even though is does not make any sense for them to be there or if they feel like they don't belong...
How you can find exactly what you need, or what you think you need in the most unimagined place on earth, the one place you did not picture yourself at, and how if you grab on to something with all your might it can be a stepping stone. A way to achieve what you want to be able to get to your dreams, but also what you think you need to become the person you always tough you should be, and still want to be. Its all about the journey to get from when you are, by circumstances well beyond your control to where you could be by a turn of fate and some luck.

Did I gave to much away? I hope I didn't... The books are written with an attention to detail that is amazing, the descriptions are great and make your feel like you can see the whole book play in your mind just the way the author has created it for you to enjoy. I have loved this story and I hope you will too.

Another great thing about this book is that you can find it in audible (this is how I first found it, looking for Three Two One to see if there was an audible copy of that one) and for me it was great to immerse in the audio book. At this time I have to do a lot daily (I won't bore you with the details) and Audiobooks are my go to source of entertainment.
Unfortunately the other two books as of today (March 19th, 2015) is only on kindle and paperback so far, I could not find copies of Hardcover ones.

And this is all for today, I hope you have enjoyed.
Don't forget to give me a thumbs up and share if you like/found this review helpful.

Have a great rest of the week and a great book to keep you company.

Review of: Three Two One by JA Huss

Hello everyone welcome back to I Geek Books!

To end this week with a bang I tough I'd do a review of a very good book that I just read recently.
This is also going to be a controversial one, so if you didn't like 50 Shades, then do not waste you time, this is not the book for you.

Three Two One is even more complicated than 50 shades; there really should be no comparison between the two since it is my believe that in  this case, 50 shades is Vanilla compared to this one. The characters in this book are even more screwed up  than Mr. Grey ever was. The all have deep issues that they are either dealing with, trying to avoid or just plain old hiding, yes that also works. But its not only their issues or psychological marks that they are hiding...

The only reason I am comparing it to 50 is because they also have singular tastes...

But I have to say, this is not what kept me reading page after page. Yes the book is hot, yes the scenes are specific and some times shocking. For me this book was a big Trifecta, pun intended.
There is mystery, crime, romance...
The book for me was about soul mates, how you can find yours in the last place you tough you would in the first place. Being in the right place, at the right time can change your life, and maybe, just maybe help you overcome your fears, get you to a better place, soul and mind.
Blue is in that place, she is lost, after what happened to her. She has had to deal with life in a whole other way than what she ever could have envisioned for herself, she could  never have imagined that she will be in her current place to begin with, but her life decisions have taken her to a whole new place, made her start all over and lead her to her soul mates... JD. And Ark.

This is for mature readers, and expect to blush time and time again. I love this author now too, and would love to read something else from her. This book to me was exceptional.

Here is the link to the book on Amazon:

Hope you enjoy and happy Friday the 13th...
Please don't forget to comment and like!
Have a great weekend, and a great book (And tell me all about it!)

Hexx Hall Series Review by Rachel Hawkins

Hello everyone, Today I am going to do a review on a Supernatural series. I feel like I have not done one of these in a while and I am wanting to give you a bit of a mix, so you can pick and choose depending on what you are in the mood for. This series is 3 Books and they are great. Here they are in order:

Note: Click on the name of the books and it will take you to the amazon web site to purchase each book.
By Rachel Hawkins
This series is a book after each other, so they stay on the same theme continuesly, but it's not all in the same place, and of course as the book progressed the story does too. One thing I love about it is the fact that the books are quite long, there 337-350 pages each, there is plenty to read, and really not very many "fill in" chapters. Those quite honestly I have no patience for,(that goes for fill in chapters that quite frankly feel like they do not belong there or 100 pages so called books...), I love that this author is very good at not boring your brains out with family history and flash backs. There is just enough in there to make you want more, but not enough of it that you will feel the need for coffee break...
I love that this authors way of writing completely transported me to Hex Hall, the narrative was explicit and at the same time intriguing. How did this place came to exist, why does it have the magic that it has and who put it there? How will this all come together into Sophie's life? Who will she choose... If you likes the Vampire Academy books and want to read something similar, then this is a great series for you. Sophie is a normal girl, until she is not. She can do things that other teens can't do and is causing quite the commotion because of it in the regular world. All of this leads her to Hex Hall, the reformatory school for kids who have no grasp what so ever on their powers... I hope that did not spoil the books to much for you...
Now I will tell you what I like about the books: This is one of those fantasies that I wish could be actually true. It's about family and how they take care of each other, even if they are not physically there. Making new friends, getting out of your comfort zone and standing up for yourself. Sophie makes a very good teenage heroine. She will not take crap from other students, will tell you her mind, and knows right from wrong. This how ever, won't prevent her from being set up... But how? Well, you will have to read to find out. All in all, you'll laugh, love the characters, feel like Jenna is also your best friend... This series is a page turner, I read it two years ago and I still remember it and would love to read more from this author as well, since at the time this was all I could find. How ever doing research to be able to bring you the most updated information today I have found that there is another book by Rachel Hawkins that looks very promising and will be reviewd soon here on he Blog as well. Stay Tuned for Fridays Sassy and Sexy book review. Don't forget to give me a thumbs up if you like it and found this helpful. Hope you have a great book making you company! Xox

Review of Cattoretti's Return Book 4 of the Lust, Money and Murder Series by Mike Wells

Since the first three books of this series were so good, I could not help but keep wanting to read more about this series and Elaine Brogan.

Book three ends with her finding her love and literally pushing away the bad thing in her life.
I have to say, I am not at all disappointed! I loved Cattoretti's Return; I enjoy very much when an author surprises me, and Mike Wells has done it again.
The book was not what I expected, as it is from his perspective. I started it thinking it will have more of Elaine, but it showed me a whole other world with a different person as the front and center, one that I for one hate and love at the same time.

Cattoretti is portrayed in this book in a whole new light; his brilliant master mind is front and center for all of us to enjoy, we get to see him screaming, surviving and hiding as well as his backward rationality when it comes to his relationships with women.
Yes I know, he is supposed to be the bad guy, and no doubt about it he is, but now you know more; not only the circumstances that drove him into that world, but also who he is now and what he wants. A character like this you have to admire as well. We do have a love/hate relationship, more hate than love of course, but I adore that this charater keep surprising me at every turn. Cattoretti does not do anything that does not serve a purpose and of course, himself.
He has and uncanny ability to always be a step ahead of his enemies and thinks about anything and everything that could possibly happen and how he can manipulate the situation to come up on top, as always, the Cat always lands on his feet...

But you have to read to know what I mean, like always in a Mike Wells novel. All will make sense in the end.
Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did!

Lust, Money & Murder Book 4: Cattoretti's Return.

Have a great day and hope you have a great book!
Please don't forget to like and comment, let me know if this helped you! :)

Review of Fifty Shades of Grey Book V/S Movie

First let me start by saying how much I love this books. I know a lot of people criticize them, and I can't help but wonder if thats what they really think, of if they just want to say something to be different and just hate on them because they can since the majority loves them.

I do love this series, I am glad I found it as well as glad that E.L James wrote it and shared it with the world. In my opinion is well written, the story line is unconventional and captivating, and yes Christian Grey, the one in my head (they are not the same, my imagination has a favorite one, its not an actor is a combination of my favorite actors really, if that makes any sense...) and the one in the movie are hot so that helps.

I know a lot of people are going to freak out about what I am about to say, but in a way, because of how mayor this books have become, the are a classic. The have opened a door to writers to take more risks, taken down some barriers that maybe where there and they did not realize they had, as well as helped other authors embrace there 50 shadiness and show all readers another great peace of the wonderful world of books.
Other authors have tried and not quite succeeded in bringing this sort of book to life in the past, so I am glad E.L James knew when the world was ready for it and is now able to lead this avant garde phenomenon.

There has being some controversy to say the least about this books, so its to expect that the movie will also bring a lot to talk about. So I could not help but put in my two cents and let everyone know what I thought about it.

First let me tell you, it took me until yesterday (pretty much forever) to go see it, the reason for that?
I started reading the reviews, talked to friends of mine who liked the books and didn't like the movie. The whole thing was pretty straight up. It seam people who read the books didn't like the movie. The found it to be awkward, and not even a little bit like the books.
So I went in a bit apprehensive about it...

I could not disagree more! I loved the movie.
Dakota Johnson was superb as Anastasia Stelee; she did her character to perfection in my opinion. Thats almost exactly how I imagine Anastasia will be.
Jamie Dornan did a great Christian Grey; and yes at one point or another his accent did came trough, but I really did not mind at all, its a very good accent.
I went ahead and for good measure re-read the first one, but just the first one, since I know that the more ahead you get in the books, the more Anastasia comes out of her shell. So my question is, have you? Read the whole book again? Not just the parts that you like to read time and time again (this is usually what I do when I have a bad book day) because if you have then you know Ana is awkward, inexperienced and completely blown away by Christian and what will latter on be known as his kinky fuckery; specially in the first Book. She is completely out of her depth and feels like a moth to a flame when it comes to Christian, her attraction for him and the enormity of what he is offering to show her.

My question is:
What did y'all expected? A porn movie? There is a limited amount of "50 shades" scenes they can put into a movie and the ones they did put in I was glad to find that where tasteful and sexy, you are able to keep the mystery a bit, and it does not follow into the TMI, thats a very fine line to cross.
I found it to be a good one all in all, probably the first movie that I have seeing that is based of a book that my favorite parts of the books are in it. Usually the little things are never committed to the movies, but I am happy to see that they where here.
Yes I did missed some things. Like the signatures of Christian at the end of the emails they sent to each other...
It was funny, sexy, complicated... All in all, very true to the books and its characters and I am glad I saw it.
I do recommend it and I can only hope that y'all enjoy it as much as I did.
My Two cents are, take into account all other reviews and opinion, keep them in mind, and go ahead and see it and latter make your own. It worked perfectly for me.

Big thumbs up for 50 Shades of Grey, the movie. Cant wait for 50 Shades Darker!

If you want to hear this review as an Audio book it will be posted later today.

Paperback/Hardcover VS E-Reader VS Audiobooks. Expose. Pros and Cons

Hello y'all!

For a while now I have being wanting to do a comparison with all the new and  the old (or the classic) ways/options we now a days have to enjoy a book.

I understand perfectly the readers that do not like the new Era. Its is not the same thing. The feel of the book is something that is calming and this reader at least gets some comfort out of that. I remember the first time I read from a Kindle. I was completely lost. It was confusing, disorienting even. One trusts you sense of tact to tell you more or less where in the book you are, maybe even without realizing this until you change it.
That first book I read in the reader; well I kept having to look at the little bar at the bottom to tell me if I was at the middle, end of beginning. Because I was used to be able to feel it, you know, more pages on either hand, really no mystery there...

I have reached a conclusion, there is nothing like a book; a hardcover good ol'fashion book.

With that said, I will give you also my input about the other ways that technology has provided for us, the readers and give you a Pro/Con list, I will try to keep it short ad sweet :)

Kindle Reader/App, other apps for Android or Apple that need a device. (Overdrive, Kindle App, iBooks, etc)

Pros

  1. You can read anything, anytime. There is no need to get out of your house. This also becomes very convenient when you are reading that really good series, but you just finished the book. It was so good that you can't keep sleeping... Now with this, just go to the library, purchase the next one and read on!
  2. You have tons of books (depending on your device's space) at a click distance. You can customize your library the way you like it. Organize it your own way.
  3. With these apps there is also the availability to read for free, there are plenty of books that can be found for free, the most common ones, believe it or not, the Classics.  Ana Karenina, Jane Eyre, Moby Dick, Tess d'Urbervilles, Little Women, The Picture of Dorian Grey.... They all are in my Kindle, and they cost me time to look them up, but not one cent.
  4. Because you are reading something of a e-reader the prices for kindle books, or e-books (I just have a Kindle and everything has become Kindle in my mind) are considerably lower than what a hardcover or paperback book would be. Also, the device weights considerably less than a 300-600 page book, so hand cramps are diminished very much!
  5. Last but not least, Libraries have this apps now a days, you can add those to your tablet, readers, etc and get books for free as well, some have a wait list, yes, and they are borrowed, but you do have more possibilities, and if you can read it for free, why would you pay for it?! Right!

Cons:
  1. Batteries. This happened to me not so long ago, my Kindle decided it had enough and proceeded to die on Me. Of course, on the best part of the book. So this is a con for me; you could always plug it in again of course. But it was just annoying, and then there is the cable, and your outlets does not properly reach, and the you need an extension cord because they never make the cables long enough to reach an outlet... Anyways, you get the point.
  2. Light... Make sure to get something the allows you to read in the sun. For instance, that commercial about readers being made to be read in the sun and iPads being difficult, 100% true. Don't get me wrong, I love Mac, always have, always will. I have and iPad that I adore, but reading with that in the beach, or the pool, or any place that the sun will reflect of a body of water, or is simply bright on that day makes it a bit uncomfortable. So make sure you get something that will allow you to read in any weather condition.
  3. The same goes for the night time, make sure this is something adjustable, since for instance, mine tents to sort of blind me at night with the low setting, which is where the iPad is just perfection.

I can not think of any more cons. I have become an avid e-reader and love all the Pros that it brings to the table. If you do have some more Cons or Pros, fell free to comment below and let us know.

This leaves Audiobooks.

 Cons:
  1. They are Expensive. Capital E! If you have audible you know they range from 6 or so, to the 30's or 40's for one book. That's a lot to pay for one book, specially if you latter don't like it...
  2. The thing that I find with audio books is that if I don't like the narrator, even if the book is good, I won't like it. It happened to my with Game of Thrones, I could not understand half of what he was saying and I felt like I wasted a credit. So if you plan on purchasing something, please listen to the Sample that they have, that should give you a Preview on the Book and also on the Narrator and help you make up your mind.
  3. A few of my friends tell me that it puts them to sleep; this for me is not a problem, but maybe for some people it is.
Pros:
  1. Its great to have while driving. Music/Radio this days tents to be very repetitive, I have heard the same song over and over and over again. Audio books solve that problem.
  2. You will be literally listening to someone tell you a story. How great is that!?
  3. Its lets you keep up with what you are reading. I will put an example. Lets say you are reading a very good book, and said book is also available for Audiobook, you are in a great part, but life gets in the way and wants to burst your bubble, you have to get ready for work. Enters audio book! Plug your ear buds and start where you left off. While doing the dishes, cooking, driving (here hands free of course, like Link phone to Car sort of thing) no disruption necessary.
This is all I could think of, again if you have any more, please go ahead and let me know.

My point is that I love everything that could allow me to do what I love the most, read. And the beauty of it is that one does not have to choose, you can mix and match, combine and pick what will fit your lifestyle the most and let the magical world of books follow you where ever you are.

Keep the books and their magic coming! :)

Like always,
Hope you have a great book (no matter what format it is in).
