A Discovery of Witches review Book 1

After getting stucked in the "Shade of Vampire" saga (for me it lost fuel half way trough the third book, and i completely lost my interest) I  looked for something else to ocupate my supernatural reading, as always, friends are the most tursted critics, specially the ones that share your tastes so i tought I should try their recomendations.
So far " A Discovery of Witches" (and i say so far because the "Shade of Vampire was a dissapointment, and it stated so good! So i dont want to get my hopes up, tough this one is highly recomended) has being one big surprise after another, I do believe that i have read enough that at some point I can more or less guess where the story will take the charaters from the ways the develop trough out the book. How ever i can say that, without a shadow of a doubt, Deborah Harkness has managed to surprise me at every turn. She is very discriptive, but never boring; and thanks to that one can read and almost 600 pages book and still close it and want for more.
There are three books total (untill today's date 9/18/14) and half way trought the second one everything is still looking good and keeps having promises of more exiting developments to come.
If you have not figured it out yet, I am very exited about this saga, so much that i cant stop talking about it :-D

Happy reading!
Xoxo
